Sean McGonagle

Sean spent 16 years at Standard Life as a senior consultant and latterly within the wealth management division providing the more detailed investment and tax advice required by high net worth clients.

Sean has brought this knowledge and experience to the Encompass fold. His interest in psychology and exploring people’s relationship with money led him to complete a life planning course run by the noted US financial planner and Buddhist teacher George Kinder.

Sean believes life planning and financial planning are complimentary and that by following this principle he builds trusting and lasting relationships with his clients. Sean’s other key areas of experience cover matrimonial breakdown and estate planning.

When not working Sean engages his passion for cycling which regularly involves taking on new challenges and raising funds for his chosen charities.

My divorce was a very emotional period for me. I needed to find an adviser I could trust to help me as I had very little experience in dealing with family and personal finances.
I received many complicated financial and legal correspondence and communications. Sean helped me to interpret these so that I could respond to them in good time.
Sean comes highly recommended by me as someone who provided an enormous peace of mind during challenging times.
